Why, "Otherways."

6/9/98 In choosing the name for this site I've put much thought and consideration into trying to find words that could easily convey my quest for knowledge of the human condition. It is my sincere belief that no matter who we are, where we've been, or what we know, that as men and women, boys and girls, of this earth, that there are things we all need in life. Some are things we seek for satisfaction and some are things that we all must have to survive.

It is my hope to find out in all of these things where we are the same and where we are different and the reasons why. I hope to present to you, my audience, everything I can about my experience here in Benin, and encourage anyone who ever reads these words to take them as but one experience of many. Even more than this, I further hope to inspire you to seek truth where it lies, no matter what the cost, by going out into the world with an open mind.

I originally chose the name, "Other Ways" in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while brainstorming with my oldest friend and coconspirator, Dane Troup, of Hunterkillerdog, Inc. When the words were out of my mouth and in the air I immediately began to question their validity. After all, how could I hope to adequately express things I did not yet know about a place I had not yet been? Well I am here now and have felt the first of but many marks to come before my heart and soul here in Benin, and indeed there are other ways.

I hope I can reach someone, somewhere, with this dream of mine, and I hope that someone is you. Because whether you believe me or not, when it to living and learning, feeling and sharing in this world of ours there will always be other ways.
